‘What if the city had emotions and memories, just like people?’

With this in mind, we went into the community and started a dialogue with the residents of Tai Kok Tsui to understand the story of the community transformation. At the same time, we try to organize the city's emotions and memories through the collection and recreation of old objects.

Tai Kok Tsui, a quietly changing neighborhood along the coastline, is in the same vein as Hong Kong. From the disappearing cape, we observe different faces of different eras: from a fishing port to an industrial town, from the industry decline to a transportation hub, each wave of the district’s change corresponds to the social scene of different times.

“Move on to TKT” in the Community Museum Series depicts the past and present life of Tai Kok Tsui from the perspective of several characters and landmarks. The exhibition connects different generations of Tai Kok Tsui residents, giving people the opportunity to travel through time and space to savor the unique stories of the old district's transformation.

Tai Kok Tsui is a neighborhood that is constantly changing with the development of the city.
